We understand that students are individuals and therefore require courses detailed to their expectations and /
or skill levels.  We offer many structured programs but we pride ourselves on being flexible to support the
needs of our students.  Our Instructors welcome the first time shooter.  

  • Firearm Safety for Children
  • It is the responsibility of parents and concerned adults to teach their children what to do if they
    come across a firearm.  The NRA's Eddie Eagle program teaches children to STOP, DON'T
    TOUCH, and LEAVE THE AREA, and TELL AN ADULT.  The Eddie Eagle Program neither
    offers nor asks for any value judgment concerning firearms. Like safety lessons concerning
    swimming pools, electrical outlets, matchbooks and household poisons, Eddie Eagle's safety lesson
    is one that children should not miss. With firearms found in about half of all American households,
    it's a stance that makes sense. Just as Smoky Bear teaches children not to play with matches,
    Eddie Eagle teaches them that firearms should not be touched. The child will watch a brief
    animated video and will receive a coloring book.  Other items may be distributed depending on
    what we have in our inventory at the time.

    offer at NO CHARGE.

  • NRA's Basic Pistol Program with Certification
  • This class is the NRA Pistol class that offers a certificate of completion.  Students enrolled in this
    course will receive the following;
  • Students are furnished an NRA handbook and Certification exam
  • Students receive different drills and methods that can be practiced in the comfort of your own
    home that can be used for continuous improvement.
  • Student is responsible for all range fees and all ammunition
  • Student Receives a Certificate from the NRA upon successful completion
  • Student Fee $125
  • Successful completion of this class also qualifies the student for a Florida Conceal Carry card.

  • Conceal Carry Basics
  • This class takes the student through proper conceal carry techniques.  Lessons taught in this Carry
    Concealed Weapon, (CCW), include but are not limited to;
  • Holster selection
  • Firearm selection for CCW
  • Responsibilities while CCW
  • Correct procedure for drawing and holstering your firearm from tactical positions
  • Tactical loading and reloading
  • Cover and Concealment Techniques  

  • One on One Range Training
  • From time to time, individuals need assistance to "tune-up" their scores, other times individuals
    would like to try our a firearm before they purchase it.  To this end, we offer RANGE ONLY
    instruction.  
  • This service helps the seasoned shooter correct a bad habit and get them back on target.  For the
    new shooter, you will be shown how to properly use the range, load the firearm, hold the firearm,
    shoot the firearm, and very BASIC safety.  
  • It is recommended that this course is not to be used as a substitute for a complete Basic
    Firearms Course.  
  • The student is responsible for providing their own firearm, either owning it or renting it from
    the range.  
  • The students are also responsible for all range fees and ammunition.

ALL instruction is held at Maxon Shooter Supplies located at 1226 Rand Road in Des Plaines.
  • Fee for this training is $60 per student per hour.
Classes and Fees
While on the range, the student MUST display a great deal of
safety and act in a responsible manner.  At NO TIME will
horseplay or a cavalier attitude be tolerated.  Students will
receive ONE verbal warning regarding an unsatisfactory
attitude.  After that, the student will be asked to leave the range
and NO refund will be given.

As of January 1, 2008, Tactical Shot Inc will no longer supply or pay for ammunition for any range
qualifications.  This step is necessary do to legal liability issues.  We apologize for any inconvenience this
causes.

As of January 1, 2008, there will be a $25.00 charge applied to all returned checks.  If arrangements can
collecting the bad debt.  The student who wrote the bad check will be responsible for ANY AND ALL
FEES incurred by Tactical Shot Inc in the collection of this debt.  

Unfortunately, some students have taken advantage of us and as of March 1st, 2008, we are forced to
require a $62.50 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit from all students.  If arrangements are made 24 hours prior
to class, the deposit may be applied to an agreed upon rescheduled date.  Under no circumstances will the
deposit be refunded.  This deposit may be paid by money order or credit card.

We apologize for these measures but we can no longer continue to absorb bad debts.
